How should a remote device monitoring and control platform be budgeted?
For initial planning, Wavesteam currently uses these indicative bands: CNY 150,000–300,000 for a few fixed models focused on status and location; CNY 300,000–600,000 for a pilot adding controlled commands, tasks, one video stream, authorization, and audit; and from CNY 600,000 for a production platform with several vendors, concurrent low-latency video, automation, edge deployment, and high availability. Complex programmes may exceed CNY 1.5 million.
These are not market-wide rates or contract prices from a title. They assume usable vendor SDKs/APIs, real samples and technical support, no custom low-level controller in the first release, and exclude hardware, facilities, long-term cloud consumption, regulatory approval, and physical installation. A failed assumption triggers re-estimation.

The drivers are adapters, video acquisition/transcoding/concurrency, command hazards, edge nodes, deployment environment, and field tests—not screen count. Two models from one manufacturer can need separate adapters. RTSP-to-WebRTC differs from a supported browser stream. Production cloud, bandwidth, maps, messaging, storage, monitoring, and on-call are continuing costs and remain separate.

A website is not the safety controller
A movement or machine command passes authentication, role, current device state, operating zone, and expiry before the device-side safety controller decides whether it can execute. Record request, approval, send, receipt, execution, cancellation, and final state. Emergency stop and collision avoidance cannot depend on a public web path. Higher-risk actions may require two people, speed limits, geofences, and local takeover.
Sector permission remains external. In China, unmanned aircraft operation must comply with the current Interim Regulations on Flight Administration of Unmanned Aircraft and applicable registration, operator, airspace, and activity rules. Software acceptance does not grant regulatory or site authorization. Wavesteam encodes confirmed constraints; regulators and site owners approve them.
Before a full contract, use the real device to prove SDK authentication and status, one safe task or command, and one video stream on the target network. Record command delay/loss, disconnection state, acknowledgement, first-frame and buffering, SDK crashes, and licence restrictions. Pause the estimate if documentation is unavailable, only a consumer app can control the device, server use is prohibited, or commands lack acknowledgement.
To convert the range into a quotation, Wavesteam needs the target models and SDK versions, predicted fleet, concurrent streams, command list, network, site, and deployment. The bands were reviewed August 25, 2026; tax treatment, payment milestones, and maintenance belong in the formal quote.
